Due to the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana is suspending operations until at least September 7, 2021. Hearings scheduled between Monday, August 30, 2021 and Tuesday, September 7, 2021 will be rescheduled at a later date.
CM/ECF is available to attorneys and creditors to file pleadings and petitions electronically. Pro Se filers can visit our website at www.laeb.uscourts.gov and click on the tab, Filing Without an Attorney, to file a petition through our eSR program or to obtain a pdf version of an emergency petition.
Due to the forecast for Tropical Strom Ida to reach Category 3 Hurricane status, the U. S. Bankruptcy Court is closing today at 1pm in an effort to give staff time to prepare for the storm. The Bankruptcy Court will remain closed on Monday, August 30, 2021 and will not re-open until Tuesday, August 31, 2021. Anyone with matters scheduled this afternoon or Monday, August 30, 2021, should check the docket for the latest updates on the status of their cases.
The United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana has upgraded to the Next Generation (NextGen) of CM/ECF.
NextGen is the culmination of a multi-year project headed by the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts to provide for the current and future filing and case management needs of all CM/ECF users.
Regular business hours for users' support and filing on this Electronic Filing System are from 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., Central time. Although the system is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, it may be necessary for the court to interrupt service for maintenance at various times. Please be aware that if you choose to file at hours other than the supported times you may experience an interruption of service.
